I had a really positive and energising visit to the home of GB Taekwondo in Their sports complex in Ten Acres Lane Manchester. I can see how the athletes grow and excel with the really dedicated and thoughtful support the team give them. I have assessed two of the athletes, neither were at the Olympics this time but hopefully in 2020 Tokyo! The support team wanted to know how they could help their dyslexic elite athletes organise themselves and manage their time and training better.
We discussed making planning and time management more visual and interactive with mindmapping software and colour and images used to reinforce verbal and textual information. The excellent spatial and practical skills that these dyslexic athletes have can be harnessed to help them learn better and smarter and go on to even more success
